What is Automatic Changeover Switch
A Changeover Switch is a switching arrangement or device used to switch the power supply source to an electrical load. There are various kinds of changeover switches available. It is classified into two types based on the operation:
1. manual
2. automatic.
As the name of the transfer switch, automatic changeover switch and manual changeover switch built with electrical or electronic circuitry are available on the market.
An automatic phase change over switch is designed primarily to disconnect the load from its power source and transfer it to a standby source say a generator, in case there is a power outage. The switching process is done in a controlled manner so as to prevent the false starting of the generator at very short power outages.
